Spanish phrases: Travellers’ guide to basic Spanish

Traveller’s quick guide to Spanish phrases

Travelling is exciting, but it can also be daunting if you go somewhere that doesn’t speak your native language. When we went to Japan we (naively) thought that most people would speak English. We were wrong, and not only that, all of the signs for trains and businesses were in Japanese characters – uhoh, we were in a bit of a pickle…

So, because of that horrifying culture shock experience, I’m going to make basic guides that are ‘must-know phrases’ for each different European language! Starting with Spanish!

Spanish is spoken all over the world, but originates from Spain!
